The place
The hotel is planned for 3321 Surfers Paradise Boulevard, occupying the middle floors of a high-rise tower proposed by developer M Property in the Gold Coast's Surfers Paradise district.
The concept
Marriott International signed La Vie Hotels & Resorts in July 2026 to manage the Gold Coast's first Westin, a franchise agreement with M Property for the hotel component of a tower originally approved at 44 storeys and, per a revised application filed the same year, pushed to 48 storeys — with four basement levels removed to ease excavation and the podium expanded to accommodate parking instead, a redesign credited to Cottee Parker Architects. The Westin's 138 keys (115 rooms and 23 suites) will occupy roughly the tower's middle floors, with communal recreation space, including the pool, relocated upward in the revised design. Marriott's Tristan Cooper called the Gold Coast "a natural fit" for Westin's wellness positioning, noting the brand joins JW Marriott Gold Coast and Sheraton Grand Mirage in the company's local portfolio, with four more Gold Coast properties reportedly in its pipeline.
Dining & wellness
A restaurant and bar, an infinity pool and pool bar, a fitness centre and a Heavenly Spa by Westin are planned as part of the hotel's amenity floors.
