The place
The hotel sits at 777 Casino Drive on Pittsburgh's North Shore, attached to Rivers Casino's east façade and facing the Carnegie Science Center across the Ohio River, within walking distance of PNC Park and Acrisure Stadium.
The concept
Rush Street Gaming built The Landing as a ground-up, seven-story addition to Rivers Casino, its second hotel under the Landing name after an earlier property in Schenectady, New York. Construction, announced in 2019, was paused for more than 15 months during the pandemic before resuming in June 2021 on a roughly $60 million, privately funded budget; it opened to guests in December 2022. General contractor Massaro Corporation built the tower directly onto the casino's existing east façade, giving most rooms — including 10 terrace suites with private patios — expansive windows over the Ohio River, the Point State Park fountain and the Mount Washington skyline. As a casino hotel rather than a standalone property, the building is designed around convenience for gaming and event traffic: direct interior access to Rivers Casino's own restaurants, bars and entertainment, on top of the hotel's own facilities.
Dining & wellness
The Landing runs its own Lobby Bar and the Drum Bar, which hosts free live music, plus a daily complimentary continental breakfast; guests also have direct access to Rivers Casino's wider restaurant and bar lineup next door. A 24/7 fitness center covers wellness — there is no spa or pool.
