The place

The hotel occupies the lower floors of the 681-foot Hudson's Detroit tower at the site of the former J.L. Hudson's department store, the anchor project of Bedrock's downtown redevelopment.

The concept

Ian Schrager's EDITION brand, operated with Marriott, makes its Midwest debut here as Detroit's first five-star hotel, sharing the 45-floor tower with 97 branded residences above it. The building itself is the story as much as the hotel: a landmark skyscraper replacing a demolished department store that anchored downtown Detroit for most of the 20th century.

Dining & wellness

The hotel plans four food and beverage outlets, a pool, an outdoor terrace, a fitness center and a spa.
