The place

ROOST Detroit occupies floors of the restored Book Tower on Washington Boulevard in downtown Detroit, a historic office skyscraper redeveloped by Bedrock after a seven-year, roughly $400 million restoration.

The concept

ROOST Detroit opened June 1, 2023 as Michigan's first high-design extended-stay, apartment-hotel concept from Philadelphia-based Method Co., marking the first hotel operation ever housed inside Book Tower. Its 117 studio, one- and two-bedroom units pair full kitchens, stainless-steel appliances and hardwood floors with boutique-hotel service and design, positioning it between a traditional hotel and a furnished apartment. The opening was part of a broader relaunch of Book Tower that added office space, residences and a cluster of new dining and event concepts under the Anthology events program, making ROOST both a hotel and an anchor tenant of one of downtown Detroit's most significant historic restorations.

Dining & wellness

Guests have access to Book Tower's on-site restaurant and bar collection, including Bar Rotunda (designed by ODA with a cristallo quartzite and tambour-wood bar), rooftop cocktail venues, a coworking space, bike share and a 24-hour fitness center.
