NoMad Detroit

Hilton is bringing its NoMad brand to the United States for the first time as a luxury lifestyle debut, taking the top five floors of Detroit's newly restored Michigan Central Station in Corktown. The roughly 180-room hotel, chosen from 16 competing proposals, will reimagine the station's historic restaurant and carriage house and is targeting a 2027 opening.

The place

The hotel occupies floors 14 through 18 of Michigan Central Station in Corktown — floors never previously used in the building's history — inside a 1913 depot restored by Ford as the anchor of its 30-acre Michigan Central campus.

The concept

NoMad's arrival marks Hilton's first US luxury lifestyle hotel and the brand's first Michigan property, chosen after a selection process that drew 16 competing proposals. The interiors are being developed in collaboration with local Detroit artists and makers, tying the hotel to the city rather than importing NoMad's established New York or Los Angeles look wholesale.
