The place

A new seven-story hotel at 603 W. Morgan St. in Raleigh's Warehouse District, within walking distance of Morgan Street Food Hall, Trophy Brewing and the Glenwood South entertainment district.

The concept

The building opened in March 2020 as Origin Raleigh, the Origin Hotels brand's third U.S. property, with 126 rooms and locally inspired décor — timing that put its debut right at the start of the pandemic. In 2022 the property was rebranded under Marriott's Tribute Portfolio as The Casso, a name drawn from Casso's Inn, one of Raleigh's largest hotels in the 18th and 19th centuries and the registered birthplace of President Andrew Johnson in 1808. The physical hotel and its 126 rooms have operated continuously since 2020 under Pyramid Global Hospitality management.

Dining & wellness

Good Day Good Night, the hotel's on-site restaurant and bar, serves breakfast and dinner in a casual setting; the hotel also has a fitness center and meeting space.
