Hotel Indigo Raleigh

Raleigh's distinctive 19-story circular tower on Hillsborough Street — a former Holiday Inn built in 1969 — is reopening as Hotel Indigo after a $36 million renovation led by Tidal Real Estate Partners. The 204-room hotel keeps its mid-century silhouette intact while rebuilding the interior, with a 19th-floor cocktail lounge as its signature space, targeting an October 2026 opening.

The place

The hotel occupies 320 Hillsborough Street in downtown Raleigh, an unmistakable round tower that has anchored the street's skyline since 1969, within walking distance of North Carolina State University and the Raleigh Convention Center.

The concept

Acquired by Tidal Real Estate Partners in 2021, the former Holiday Inn's exterior remains unchanged while the interior is rebuilt from the ground up into a 204-room Hotel Indigo, IHG's locally-inspired boutique brand. Sage Hospitality Group will manage the property, including its food and beverage program.

Dining & wellness

A ground-floor café and gathering space anchor daytime service, while the 19th-floor penthouse becomes a cocktail lounge and event venue serving local food and drink, managed by Sage Hospitality Group; a full restaurant lineup has not yet been detailed.
