The place
The hotel will occupy Centre House, a former office building (originally RAC House, built in phases from 1976) at 69-87 Chichester Street, on the corner of Chichester and Victoria Streets adjacent to the Cathedral Quarter and close to Belfast City Hall.
The concept
Tempo by Hilton Belfast City Centre is confirmed as the brand's first hotel outside the United States and Europe's first Tempo property, under a franchise agreement with Loughview Leisure Group. Planning permission for the change of use from offices to a 146-bedroom hotel was approved in December 2023, with the operator later filing further plans in May 2025 to extend the conversion; Hilton's own materials describe a 144-room hotel targeted to open by the end of 2026. The brand is built around fitness and wellbeing rather than a heritage-restoration story: guestrooms are designed with a dedicated 'Get Ready Zone', in-room fitness gear kits are available on request, and the property includes a fitness centre equipped with Technogym, Precor and Life Fitness equipment alongside Calm app integration for guests.
Dining & wellness
Planned amenities include café-style all-day dining and communal work and collaboration spaces, alongside the fitness centre described above. No standalone destination restaurant has been announced.
