Radisson RED Queenstown

Radisson Hotel Group has signed a new-build Radisson RED for Queenstown, its playful lifestyle brand's first foray into New Zealand's South Island. Developed by Redwood Group at the corner of Hylton Place and Gorge Road, the 221-room hotel is targeting an early 2028 opening, with an all-day dining venue and rooftop bar at its core.

The place

At the corner of Hylton Place and Gorge Road, about seven minutes' walk from Queenstown's town centre, in an emerging precinct with views toward Coronet Peak and Lake Wakatipu.

The concept

A new-build hotel developed by Queenstown-based Redwood Group, marking Radisson RED's entry into New Zealand's South Island alongside a planned Auckland debut. The brand's playful, design-led positioning is pitched as a fit for Queenstown's four-season adventure crowd, with 221 rooms including four deluxe rooms and five suites.

An all-day dining restaurant and bar anchors the ground floor, with a rooftop bar and terrace built for golden-hour mountain views.
