Coronet Ridge Resort is the five-star reinvention of Arthur's Point's former Nugget Point Hotel, delivered through a NZ$30 million renovation under new operator Capstone Hotel Management. Forty-one rooms and suites, a Roman-style spa and the new Elevation Bar & Restaurant now sit above the Shotover River outside Queenstown. The place

Perched above the Shotover River in Arthur's Point, ten minutes from central Queenstown and thirteen from Coronet Peak Ski Area, with views over the Wakatipu Basin and the Remarkables.

The concept

Coronet Ridge Resort is a full conversion of the former Nugget Point Hotel, a late-1980s Arthur's Point property bought by Singapore-backed New Bay Group in 2023. A NZ$30 million, 16-month redevelopment under new operator Capstone Hotel Management stripped the resort back to a five-star address, with G2 Studio and GCA Studio leading a design brief built around quiet luxury: warm timber joinery, natural tones and locally sourced art across 41 rooms and suites. Rooms opened in December 2025, with the resort formally opened by Queenstown's mayor in March 2026.

Dining & wellness

Elevation Bar & Restaurant, led by executive chef Dominic Dsouza, pairs panoramic Wakatipu Basin views with a seasonally driven menu drawing on his Indian heritage and European training; a fireplace-lit Library Bar and alfresco terrace round out the offer. Wellness runs to a Roman-style day spa with outdoor hot tubs, alongside a private cinema, squash courts and a fitness centre.
