The place
On Elizabeth Street in Hobart's waterfront precinct — the brand's first property in Australia.
The concept
A new-build designed by Jaws Architects, with 221 rooms and suites spread across floors three to eighteen. Interiors lean on colour schemes drawn from the Tasmanian landscape, and the brand's Swiss heritage shows up in guest touches — a daily 'Chocolate Hour', Mövenpick-branded ice cream, and chocolate-tasting packages — layered onto an otherwise standard upscale room product.
Dining & wellness
A fitness centre and function space for up to 100 guests, with a pre-event area with its own bar; specific restaurant and bar names were not disclosed in launch materials.
