Crowne Plaza Hobart

Crowne Plaza Hobart, a 235-room new-build on Liverpool Street developed by Kalis Hotel Group, opened July 1, 2020 as IHG's first Crowne Plaza in Tasmania, with Australia's first Crowne Plaza Club Lounge.

On Liverpool Street in central Hobart, developed by locally owned Kalis Hotel Group — the first Crowne Plaza in Tasmania.

The concept

A genuine new-build rather than a conversion, with interiors drawing on the Tasmanian landscape — cool blues and silvers paired with warm earth tones, timber accents nodding to the state's forestry heritage, and curated art from local Tasmanian artists through the lobby. The hotel's Club Lounge, the first in any Australian Crowne Plaza, is designed to feel like a residence within the hotel rather than a standard lounge.

Dining & wellness

Two dining venues, including rooftop-facing THE DECK, both led by executive chef John Churchill with a farm-to-table approach built on partnerships with Tasmanian suppliers. The hotel also has a fitness centre, rooftop gardens, and six meeting and event spaces including a naturally lit ballroom.
