Kimpton Hotel Salt Lake City

Kimpton Hotel Salt Lake City is a 216-room, 10-story new build at 370 South West Temple, financed in March 2026 with $102 million from Cottonwood Group. Developed by The Domain Companies and managed by Stonebridge, it is slated to open in early 2028.

The place

370 South West Temple, at the northwest corner of West Temple and 400 South in downtown Salt Lake City, across from the federal courthouse and within about a ten-minute walk of the Delta Center, Salt Palace Convention Center, Pioneer Park and City Creek.

The concept

A ground-up, 10-story Kimpton on a 1.38-acre downtown site, developed by New Orleans-based The Domain Companies. The project was first proposed in 2021-2022, paused during the commercial real estate slowdown and resumed in early 2026 with $102 million in construction financing from Cottonwood Group. Completion is slated for the first quarter of 2028, and Denver-based Stonebridge has been selected to manage it. No official name beyond the brand has been published.

The programme includes 216 rooms, two food and beverage venues (upscale and casual), a rooftop bar, a fitness centre, about 7,000 square feet of meeting space with a ballroom, and indoor and outdoor terraces. Solomon Cordwell Buenz is the architect, with Goodrich and Studio Mainer on interiors. A residential tower called Soren is part of the larger mixed-use scheme, though its details remain unclear.

Dining & wellness

An upscale restaurant and a casual venue are planned, plus a rooftop bar, run by Kimpton's food and beverage team. No chef or concept has been announced.
