The place
A 25-story tower in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City, directly connected via skybridge to the Salt Palace Convention Center, with the Delta Center and Temple Square both within easy walking distance.
The concept
Built from the ground up to solve a long-standing gap in Salt Lake City's convention business — no headquarters hotel physically attached to the Salt Palace — the Hyatt Regency is the brand's first property in Utah and, at 700 rooms, by far the largest of the city's recent openings. Portman Architects designed the tower with floor-to-ceiling glass throughout, giving most rooms clear views of either the Wasatch Range or the downtown skyline. Its scale and convention-center connection put it closer to a full-service business hotel than a boutique or lifestyle property, but the upper-upscale finish, rooftop pool and sixth-floor dining collection distinguish it from a generic big-box convention hotel.
Dining & wellness
The hotel's sixth floor holds Mar | Muntanya, a Northern Spanish-inspired restaurant led by executive chef Tyson Peterson, alongside a rooftop pool. Ground-floor options include The Salt Republic for all-day dining and Contribution Cocktail Lounge for cocktails and light bites, plus a grab-and-go Market.
