In January 2021, TFE Hotels opened the first property under its new 'A by Adina' banner not in Sydney or Melbourne, but in Canberra — a 130-apartment tower anchoring the Australian capital's newly built Constitution Place precinct.

The place

A by Adina occupies four levels of a 12-storey mixed-use tower at 1 Constitution Avenue, inside the Constitution Place development in Canberra's city centre. The building sits between the Parliamentary Triangle and Lake Burley Griffin, roughly 400 metres from the National Convention Centre and 500 metres from Canberra Centre, placing the hotel within walking distance of the capital's main civic, cultural and government precinct rather than in a peripheral business-park setting.

The concept

A by Adina Canberra is the global launch property for TFE Hotels' 'A by Adina' sub-brand, a step above the group's core Adina Serviced Apartments line. It opened on 28 January 2021 with 130 apartments — a mix of studios, one-bedrooms and two-bedrooms — inside a tower developed by Canberra Airport under CEO Stephen Byron that also houses commercial office tenants. The brand's pitch is 'hotel living': full residential-style apartments with kitchens and laundry run to hotel service standards, aimed at both business travellers and longer-stay guests in a city whose accommodation market has traditionally skewed toward government and corporate demand.

Dining & wellness

The hotel operates an in-house lobby bar; sit-down dining is handled by neighbouring Constitution Place tenants rather than an in-house restaurant. No spa or pool is listed among the property's facilities.
