W Calgary

W Calgary will occupy a 69-storey tower at 232 15 Avenue SE, on the corner of Macleod Trail SE, across from Victoria Park/Stampede Station and the BMO Centre. The project has 157 hotel rooms and 239 branded residences, and is targeted for 2029. It is part of a three-hotel Marriott program signed with Calgary developers Truman and Louson, announced in July 2025.

The place

The site is a vacant parking lot at the edge of the Culture + Entertainment District, an area being redeveloped around the BMO Centre and Stampede Park. The LRT station at Victoria Park/Stampede is across the street.

The concept

The tower is the second of three Marriott projects by the same team. An Autograph Collection hotel, on which construction began in January 2026, is expected in 2028, and a JW Marriott follows in 2030 in a 62-storey tower with 248 rooms and 120 residences. Together the three represent more than 700 hotel rooms, nearly 360 branded residences and $1.47 billion of private investment.

W's tower has a 7,500-square-foot AWAY Spa, a FIT studio, a rooftop bar and 16,259 square feet of meeting space, organized around the brand's Living Room social space. The developers say the towers will be among the tallest in Western Canada.

Dining & wellness

A rooftop bar and the Living Room are planned. Restaurants have not been announced.
