The Monarch San Antonio, Curio Collection by Hilton

The Monarch San Antonio, Curio Collection by Hilton opened March 3, 2026 as a $185 million, 17-story landmark in San Antonio's reimagined Hemisfair district — the first major luxury hotel built in the urban park created from the 1968 World's Fair site. Developed by Zachry Hospitality, its 200 rooms and three restaurants are wrapped in architecture inspired by migrating monarch butterflies.

The place

The 17-story hotel rises in the Hemisfair district of downtown San Antonio, steps from the River Walk and the Alamo, on the urban park built from the grounds of the 1968 World's Fair.

The concept

Developed and owned by San Antonio-based Zachry Hospitality at a cost of $185 million, the design draws on monarch butterflies that migrate through the region, expressed in curved, sculptural architecture and regionally sourced art and ceramics. It is the first major luxury hotel to open in Hemisfair since the park's redevelopment began, explicitly built to honor the site's history.

Dining & wellness

Oak & Amber, a mesquite-oak hearth restaurant with a 300-bottle wine list; Aleteo, a rooftop Yucatán-inspired restaurant and mezcal bar; The Nectarie Café for breakfast and lunch; a full-service spa with four treatment rooms; and a third-floor pool deck with cabanas, sauna and cold plunge.
