The concept A 21-story, 390-room ground-up build designed by Leo A Daly, blending mid-century architecture with modern finishes in brass, marble, dark wood and cognac leather. Owned by Trailbreak Partners with Scarlett Hotel Group, it includes 18,000 sq ft of meeting space anchored by the 8,200 sq ft Pecan Ballroom, a rooftop pool, and a Club InterContinental Lounge.

Our take A conventional, well-capitalized entry into a Riverwalk hotel market that already has plenty of luxury towers: the water-taxi access and the four distinct dining concepts are the more interesting differentiators than the design itself.

My husband, Winnie (our dog), and I had a wonderful stay at the InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk. From check-in to checkout, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome and provided excellent service throughout our visit.
The hotel went above and beyond to make our stay special, and we truly appreciated the thoughtful touches and amenities that made our experience even more enjoyable. The room was beautifully designed, spotless, and very comfortable. While we didn’t have a special view, it was quiet, elegant, and the perfect place to relax and unwind.
One of the highlights of our stay was breakfast. The food was fresh, delicious, and offered a great variety, making it something we looked forward to each morning. We also especially enjoyed spending time in the lounge, where the happy hour offerings were a wonderful touch and a great way to relax after exploring San Antonio.
We also loved how pet-friendly the hotel is. This was Winnie’s very first hotel stay, and the staff made her feel just as welcome as we did. It made the experience even more memorable for our little family.
The location is excellent for exploring the River Walk, and the overall atmosphere is modern, sophisticated, and relaxing. We truly appreciated the hospitality and thoughtful touches that made our anniversary celebration even more special.
We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend the InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk to anyone looking for a luxurious, pet-friendly hotel with excellent service.
Wonderful experience! We drove from Dallas to attend a wedding and arrived early Saturday morning around 4am. We were exhausted from the drive and Fernando was helpful. He quickly checked us in and made sure we were comfortable. Rooms were clean and the vibe of the hotel was welcoming. Breakfast was delicious. we tried the yummy juices, French toast, omelettes, waffle, and breakfast burrito.

The King room was well appointed with a plush bed, desk and chair with a view, and large bench. There’s a good amount of storage in a large wardrobe with a modern bathroom. I do wish the water pressure was stronger.
Location-wise, it’s a bit tucked away in a less traveled area of the riverwalk (so not noisy) but it’s not a far walk to the busy areas. There’s not much else around though.
Absolutely beautiful hotel right along the San Antonio Riverwalk. It was very easy to check in and we appreciate that this hotel has a covered, drive-in valet parking area. Our room was very modern and impeccably clean. We love the clothing armoire that had lighting on the inside with ample storage. Inside the room we had a counter height desk, countertop and TV , coffee and cappuccino maker. The staff here were very friendly and supportive. The breakfast buffet is outstanding and we ate dinner at the Cavalier restaurant. The chef-made entrees were excellent including the beef brisket with polenta, Italian foggaccia bread, Caesar salad with grilled chicken and The vegetarian minestrone was awesome..
Really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were very clean which it is one of our top priorities. The front desk staff were very professional and lovely. They really made sure to make us feel welcomed! They use Byredo bal d’afrique for their signature scent and for their bathroom amenities which I thought is an excellent choice.
It is not right at the centre of the riverwalk party area so it’s perfect if you want to avoid the loud music/sounds. We had an infant with us so this worked wonderfully. You still have direct access to the riverwalk trail right outside the establishment.
The only thing that I would suggest is an option for non valet parking. I just don’t find it necessary and would have liked to have had access to our car without having to go through valet. We used a third party website and they charged us significantly more than if we would have added it on the spot.
