The Ritz-Carlton, Houston

The Ritz-Carlton returns to Houston with a 156-key hotel inside a 45-story tower in Uptown-Galleria, paired with 112 branded residences. Pickard Chilton designed the building, with interiors by Lauren Rottet's Rottet Studio referencing Houston's bayou landscape. It is the brand's first combined hotel and residences project in the city. Public sales of the residences launched on March 5, 2026, and completion is set for fall 2029. Sources vary slightly on the numbers, between 150 and 156 hotel rooms, 112 and 114 residences, and 44 or 45 stories; the project's own marketing cites 156 rooms and suites and 112 residences in a 45-story tower.

The place

Set at 2120 Post Oak Boulevard in Uptown-Galleria, between The Galleria and River Oaks District, on a site where developer Deiso Moss had announced a 43-story mixed-use tower in 2022 that never materialised; a sales gallery now stands there.

The tower is limestone-clad and its form is loosely inspired by the Art Deco-era Gulf Building downtown, according to its architects. The hotel occupies the lower floors, and the 112 residences sit on floors 19 to 45. The project includes a private motor court and separate lobbies and elevators for hotel and residential use, and hotel guests do not have access to the private residences or their amenities.

The concept

The brand's first Houston hotel co-locates with 112 Ritz-Carlton branded residences in a 45-story tower. Rottet Studio's interiors draw on the region's post-oak canopy and Buffalo Bayou corridors, rendered in warm wood, limestone, marble and bronze, and take their cultural references from three Houston figures: Ima Hogg, Glenn McCarthy and Dominique de Menil. Rottet says the aim is a place that balances contemporary luxury with a regional character.

The developer is Houston-based Deiso Moss, with Cleary Interests and Marriott International; Pickard Chilton is the architect with Ziegler Cooper Architects, and Harvey Cleary is the contractor. The residences come in 13 floor plans from 2,361 to 9,000 square feet, priced from 3 million dollars, with private loggias pre-plumbed for outdoor kitchens. Residents also get about 27,000 square feet of owner-only amenities. A purpose-built sales gallery that cost 5 million dollars previews the finishes, including oak herringbone floors and hand-painted linen wall coverings.

The Ritz-Carlton Residences, The Woodlands, nearby, was more than 50 percent sold shortly after breaking ground, a local precedent for demand at this price level.

Dining & wellness

The project carries more than 50,000 square feet of shared Ritz-Carlton amenities, including restaurants, lounges and cultural spaces, plus a lobby bar where guests and residents can dine. Restaurant names and chefs have not yet been announced. Pools, wellness suites, a spa, ballrooms and a golf simulator are listed among the residential amenities, which hotel guests cannot use.
