Residence Inn by Marriott Reno South

Residence Inn by Marriott Reno South is a newly built, 128-room extended-stay hotel that opened in September 2025 next to Tamarack Casino in south Reno. Owned by the Pegram and Carano families and operated by Azul Hospitality, it offers kitchen-equipped suites aimed at relocating professionals and families in one of Reno's busiest casino-and-shopping corridors.

The place

The hotel opened in south Reno's business, shopping and entertainment district, next to the Tamarack Casino and about ten minutes from the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, Atlantis, Peppermill and Grand Sierra Resort, with Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe and the airport also a short drive away.

The concept

Built new and owned by the locally prominent Pegram and Carano families, this 128-room Residence Inn is an extended-stay play for south Reno, offering studio, one- and two-bedroom suites with full-size kitchen appliances and separate living and sleeping areas. Azul Hospitality, which also operates Hyatt Place South Reno, manages the property, and the amenity set — Peloton-equipped fitness center, outdoor pool and whirlpool, meeting room, flexible outdoor gathering space — targets both relocating professionals and families needing more room than a standard hotel floor plan. Its positioning next to Tamarack Casino places it in Reno's established casino-resort corridor, but as a purpose-built, non-gaming extended-stay hotel rather than a casino property itself.
