The place

The four-story hotel sits at 1 Ballpark Lane on the Truckee River, next to Greater Nevada Field, home of the Reno Aces and Reno 1868 FC, within walking distance of the National Automobile Museum, the National Bowling Stadium and the Reno Events Center, in the Riverwalk District just north of downtown's casino core.

The concept

Built from the ground up by Basin Street Properties, a Reno-based developer, the hotel opened on August 9, 2016 as the first nationally affiliated, non-gaming, non-smoking hotel in downtown Reno: a deliberate break from the casino-hotel format that dominates the area. Interstate Hotels and Resorts manages the property day to day. The 135 contemporary rooms use Courtyard's newer prototype design, with mobile-friendly desks, sensor-based lighting and 49-inch TVs, and the building carries 875 square feet of meeting space for groups of up to 50.

Dining & wellness

The Bistro: Eat. Drink. Connect. serves breakfast, snacks, cocktails, wine and beer through the day; outdoor amenities include a covered pool and a fire pit with Truckee River views, alongside a fitness center, guest laundry and a business library with computer terminals.
