The place
Located at 1308 28th Street in Midtown Sacramento, a few blocks from Sutter's Fort State Historic Park, on a site purpose-built by local restaurateurs Randy and Stacy Paragary.
The concept
The Fort Sutter Hotel is new-construction infill in Midtown, built and opened by the Paragary family, longtime Sacramento restaurateurs, under Hilton's boutique Tapestry Collection banner. Rather than leaning on borrowed heritage, it builds its identity around Sacramento's contemporary art and food scene: guestrooms and public spaces double as an informal, rotating gallery for local artists, with the 'art-inspired' positioning carried consistently through the property rather than treated as a marketing line. It's a more straightforward, brand-standard build than the historic conversions elsewhere downtown, but a genuinely new hotel operation from operators already embedded in Sacramento's dining and arts scene.
Dining & wellness
Café Bernardo, part of the Paragary restaurant group, serves farm-to-fork American food throughout the day, and Four Palms Bar & Patio handles cocktails, wine and local beer on an outdoor patio.
