The place

The corner of 15th and K streets in downtown Sacramento, directly adjacent to the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center and a few blocks from the State Capitol.

The concept

Announced by Sacramento mayor Darrell Steinberg, the project would replace a surface parking lot with a 28-story tower combining 330 hotel rooms with four floors of 28 residential units, connected to the newly renovated convention center by a fourth-floor pedestrian bridge. No hotel operator or brand had been named as of the most recent reporting, and the project has already been delayed once by the pandemic and land negotiations.

Dining & wellness

Plans include a rooftop bar and restaurant with views of the State Capitol and downtown skyline, a 6,000-square-foot ballroom and roughly 12,760 square feet of meeting space.
