For a brand-new hotel, I expected a much better experience.
I do want to start by saying the valet staff was absolutely top-notch. They were friendly, helpful, and truly stood out during our stay. (Charging an additional $30 a night for parking is greedy though, parking should be included since there is no other parking option available unless you want to gamble and park on the streets) . The rest of the staff was pleasant, but nothing particularly exceptional. Nice, but dry staff.
The room was surprisingly small. My husband is 6'3", and the bed was too short for him—his legs hung off the end, so he didn't get much sleep.
Unfortunately, the noise was another major issue. We heard police sirens throughout both nights, making it difficult to rest. I'm not sure if it's because of the surrounding area or poor soundproofing, but it was constant. On top of that, we could clearly hear our neighbors using the bathroom through the walls, which also means they could likely hear us. If privacy is important to you, be aware that the bathroom doors in your room are also extremely thin, offering very little sound privacy.
The pool was much smaller than expected and very shallow. If you're traveling with kids or looking forward to spending time at the pool, it's really more of a small wading pool next to the bar than a place to swim. Also, the bathroom by the pool had a door that wouldn't lock so once again bathroom privacy is non existent here.
After a hot day all I wanted was to dip in the pool but it was like sitting in the bathtub in the middle of a bar/club. People were dressed up and I just wanted to cool off. It was awkward.
After returning home, I also noticed incorrect bar/restaurant charge on my credit card for places we never visited. It was fagged as fraud by my credit card. Thankfully, management resolved the issue, but it was concerning. The manager even mentioned that I was the second person to call that day about the same problem, which suggests there may be a bookkeeping issue. I would recommend checking your receipts and credit card statement carefully.
The hotel itself was very clean, and I appreciated that. However, between the small room, lack of privacy, noise, pool, and billing issues, this just wasn't the experience I expected from a new hotel. For me, it was a one-and-done stay. We will not be back.
I had a great time staying at this hotel. Friendly staff, clean and well decorated rooms, amazing rooftop and drinks. The pool was perfect for lounging and socializing. The view from up there was the best. Walking distance to the choo choo which had so many things to do. The coffee shop across the street was solid every morning. Safe walking area. There’s ping pong in the lobby. The bar downstairs was also nice. Housekeeping cleaned our room well everyday. Also, the rooms are large enough! Plenty of space to hang ur clothes and open your luggage and still has room to walk around comfortably. The room size was not an issue for me at all. Other reviewers: pay for a suite if you want a huge room! I would def stay here again when back in town.
Very much enjoyed our stay at this brand new Hyatt. Room was small, but loved all the little details, and the bed was very comfortable. The rooftop bar and pool area is beautiful. They call the pool a "water lounge" because it's 2.5' deep and small. We enjoyed breakfast in the restaurant downstairs which was delicious and the service was friendly and attentive. Would definitely stay here again!
Came here for a mama staycation. Valet was great. Gym was good.its a Saturday and apparently the pool is closed because they put chemicals in it? Can they not do that at night? I only have 1 night here, ive been waiting months for this staycation, for the purpose of tanning and using the pool. There aren’t even clear signs saying not to use the pool. There are “caution, wet floor signs”, and a yellow rope. But lots of people have tried to get in and they have to be told not to go in. It’s 2pm. I’ve been here since 11am and it’s still closed. Why??
I also never got lounge-side service. I had to go up to the bar. But apparently everybody else got service on their lounger? I ordered tuna tartare. Waited 39 minutes. Finally went up to the bar asking where it was. The lady said “I’m so sorry, I thought she would bring it out, I didn’t know I had to tell her to check it”. …but the lady who said that was the one who took my order..sooo…can’t she go check it?
I had to ask for it to be comped. She brought out the tuna tartare that had been sitting there for half hour.
Not very happy with this staycation so far. I’m pretty bummed.
I also called a day earlier to as my when I might be able to get early check-in. She said the earliest possible would be 11am, but of course she could guarantee that. But here I am at 2:05 and still no email saying it’s ready.
Also. The bathrooms up here on the pool deck are closed? Why? They’ve been closed for hours
Stefani Villela Ervin · 1/5 The hotel is pretty new and clean. The on-site restaurant was excellent and not too expensive. The downside for us was the noise. I am not sure if the band was at the rooftop bar or at one of the restaurants across the street, but it kept us up late. We are generally early sleepers. This would be great if we wanted to see live music, because the band was pretty good. It's not so great if you have an early morning, though. Based on that, it may not be the best if you have younger kids who need more sleep. The only real issue we had was that we left early Saturday morning and returned at around 3:30 PM to an untouched room. I figured it was because we were only staying two nights, but a little after 4 PM, housekeeping knocked at the door. I yelled, "Hang on", while I was trying to finish dressing quickly since I was in the middle of changing. After the second knock, as I was still yelling, " Hang on", housekeeping opened the door. I explained that we had been gone all day and thought the room would already be cleaned, and her response was simply, "Do you want us to clean now?" No, sorry for opening the door, sorry for cleaning the room so late. I just got fresh towels, and had them leave.
