The place
The address is 15 Page Avenue, in downtown Asheville, a short walk from craft breweries, restaurants, art galleries and music venues. The Biltmore Estate is a short drive away.
The opening announcement mentions views of the Blue Ridge and Great Smoky Mountains. The developer also pointed to the hotel's position for business travel: the Biltmore Company, the Mission Health corporate headquarters and the GE Aviation plant are all close by.
The concept
FIRC Group built the hotel. It is a family-owned real estate developer headed by its founder, Antonio O. Fraga Sr., and it worked with Choice Hotels International on the opening. FIRC Group is now headquartered in Asheville, and this was the first Cambria in the city. The brand, positioned by Choice as upscale, says its hotels take their design from the location, but the opening announcement gave no property-specific detail and named no designer.
The facts that are available are practical ones. There are 136 rooms, listed in three types: standard king, standard two queens and a premium corner king, with some listings giving 400 square feet. A fitness center and an open-air terrace complete the public spaces, and 3,400 square feet of meeting rooms make the hotel usable for small conferences and corporate groups.
Dining & wellness
Hemingway's Cuba is on the fourth floor and opened on 15 December 2017. Alex Fraga runs it for FIRC Group, and his father Tony Fraga had long wanted a restaurant of this kind. Alex says the food is as Cuban as it can be made: ropa vieja, vaca frita and house-made empanadas are among the dishes people order.
The restaurant serves breakfast daily and dinner, and weekend brunch, according to a booking-platform listing. OpenTable lists it as a rooftop restaurant on the fourth floor, and a diner review dated April 2026 shows it still operating. It is open to non-guests, and reviewed independently of the hotel.
