AutoCamp's first Southeast property opened on the French Broad River outside Asheville in March 2026, its debut delayed more than a year by Hurricane Helene. The 67-unit glamping resort mixes custom Airstreams, cabins and suites around a midcentury-modern clubhouse, and is the first AutoCamp property bookable through Hilton Honors.

The place

The property sits on 16 riverfront acres along the French Broad River, roughly fifteen minutes from downtown Asheville, putting it within reach of both the city's restaurant scene and the Blue Ridge and Great Smoky Mountains beyond it. It is AutoCamp's first location in the Southeast, after outposts in California, Utah, Colorado, Arizona and the Catskills.

The concept

AutoCamp Asheville was originally slated to open in fall 2024, but Hurricane Helene's damage to the region pushed the timeline back more than a year; the resort welcomed its first guests in March 2026, with a public grand-opening event held on May 21, 2026 with the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce. The build, designed with BCA Architecture and Design and Shelter Collective, follows AutoCamp's midcentury-modern formula: a 5,000-square-foot clubhouse housing the front desk, lounge, kitchen and general store, anchoring 55 custom-outfitted Airstream trailers, two cabins, four BaseCamp suites and a set of Bambi suites built for solo travelers and couples. The property is also the first AutoCamp bookable directly through Hilton Honors, part of a wider distribution deal between the two companies rather than a Hilton-branded conversion.

Dining & wellness

An on-site restaurant serves a casual menu of sandwiches, pizza and burgers, and guests have access to a year-round plunge pool and spa, private firepits with grill kits at each accommodation, twice-weekly yoga classes and a general store stocked with Asheville-made products.
