For a weekend

Walk the Brooklyn Bridge from the Manhattan side for the skyline view, then explore DUMBO's cobblestone streets and the Brooklyn Bridge Park waterfront below it. Barclays Center, in Downtown Brooklyn, hosts concerts and Nets and Liberty games if the schedule lines up with your trip. Smorgasburg, Brooklyn's outdoor food market, runs weekends in Prospect Park in warmer months.

For a longer stay

With more time, add Williamsburg for its restaurant and nightlife scene and the East River waterfront parks with Manhattan skyline views, and Prospect Park — designed by the same team behind Central Park — for a quieter, more local alternative to Manhattan's green space. The Brooklyn Museum and Brooklyn Botanic Garden sit next to each other at the park's eastern edge.
