Wilde Aparthotels Cambridge City Centre

Staycity Group opened its Wilde-branded aparthotel in central Cambridge in August 2025, a 227-unit new-build on Round Church Street developed by Marick Real Estate. It's the brand's eighth European site and second UK university-city property after Oxford, distinguished by heat pumps, solar panels and rainwater harvesting.

The place

Round Church Street, in Cambridge city centre, built above a rebuilt Park Street car park close to Jesus Green and the River Cam, a five-minute walk from Trinity College — a central site made possible by building over existing infrastructure rather than clearing land.

The concept

Wilde is Staycity Group's boutique-lifestyle aparthotel brand, positioned between a serviced apartment and a design hotel; Cambridge is its eighth European property, following London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Oxford and Berlin. The building, developed by Marick Real Estate, was designed around sustainability: air source heat pumps, 56 solar panels, a rainwater harvesting system, and biodiversity measures including a green roof, living wall, bee hotels and bird boxes. Thurstan's interiors draw on Cambridge's academic and literary identity through a curated collection of work by local and former-resident artists.

Dining & wellness

Oscar's, an all-day café-bar using locally sourced ingredients, anchors the ground floor alongside a landscaped terrace and a small retail counter selling artisanal foods, cheeses, charcuterie and locally brewed beer. There's also a co-working area, guest lounge, gym and laundry room.
