The Fellows House Cambridge, Curio Collection by Hilton, opened in July 2021 at 33 Milton Road — an apartment-style hotel with 131 rooms and suites named after Cambridge University figures, built on the former Milton Road County Primary School site about a mile from the city centre.

The place

33 Milton Road, about a mile north of Cambridge city centre, across the River Cam and Jesus Green from the historic colleges — a residential and commercial stretch of the city better suited to a longer-stay or business base than to leisure sightseeing on foot.

The concept

Hilton's first Curio Collection property in Cambridge, and its second Hilton-branded hotel in the city, built as an apartment-style hotel for both short-stay visitors and extended-stay guests — relocating professionals, academics and families wanting kitchens and living space rather than a standard room. The site was formerly Milton Road County Primary School; the school's southern half was redeveloped as a care home in 2009, while the northern half sat vacant for over a decade until this hotel's construction began in 2018. The interior design theme runs through Cambridge University history, with rooms and suites named after figures including Kipling, Turing, Newton, Blake, Attenborough and Gormley.

Dining & wellness

The Folio Bar & Kitchen is the on-site restaurant, alongside a coffee-and-wine spot called The Sage of Cambridge. An indoor swimming pool, gym, sauna and steam room cover wellness, and the Hawking Suite boardroom seats up to 10.
