Turing Locke

Turing Locke, edyn's ninth Locke aparthotel, opened in October 2021 in Eddington, the University of Cambridge's new sustainable neighbourhood. Its 180 apartments occupy a building it shares — without merging identities — with the UK's first Hyatt Centric hotel.

The place

47 Eddington Avenue, in Eddington, the University of Cambridge's purpose-built sustainable neighbourhood roughly two miles — about 15 minutes by bike — from the historic city centre, positioned as the district's first hospitality opening.

The concept

Named after Alan Turing, Turing Locke is edyn's ninth Locke address, its design drawing on Cambridge's modernist heritage alongside the brand's usual aparthotel functionality — kitchens, co-working space, flexible stays. It occupies a block it physically shares with the UK's debut Hyatt Centric hotel: the two brands sit around a shared courtyard with distinct exterior treatments, but each keeps its own address (47 versus 37 Eddington Avenue), its own entrance and check-in, and its own operator — a mixed-brand building rather than a single hotel under two names. The scheme targets BREEAM Excellent, with solar panels covering roughly 80% of roof space, part of Eddington's wider sustainability programme.

Dining & wellness

KOTA is the all-day restaurant (coffee, brunch, barbecue-style dishes, a rooftop terrace); Dutch is the cocktail bar for drinks and small plates. The property also has a gym, complimentary co-working space and two meeting rooms.
