The place

St Andrew's Street, in the historic heart of Cambridge, a short walk from the colleges and the city's main shopping streets — a central address in a city that rarely gives up sites for new hotel development.

The concept

Hobson House is Grade II-listed, built as the stables of 17th-century Cambridge businessman Thomas Hobson, whose rigid rental terms for his horses gave English the idiom 'Hobson's choice.' The building later served as the city's police station and fire station before B3 Designers led its conversion into Adina's UK debut, retaining vaulted ceilings, exposed timber beams and period detailing around new kitchenette-equipped studios and apartments. It opened alongside a sister Adina property in Glasgow, the brand's entry into the UK market aimed at both short business stays and longer academic or relocation stays.

Dining & wellness

Oz & Isle, an on-site restaurant and bar in a glass-roofed courtyard, runs a drinks-led concept with a concise sharing menu. NC — no spa, pool or gym confirmed beyond an on-site meeting room.
