The Westin Anaheim Resort

The Westin Anaheim Resort opened in June 2021 as an 618-room, ground-up luxury build directly across from Disneyland — Marriott's own pick for global opening of the year that year. Seven restaurants and bars, a rooftop lounge with fireworks views, and 47,000 square feet of meeting space make it as much a convention hotel as a resort.

The place

The resort sits at 1030 West Katella Avenue, immediately south of the Disneyland Resort and next to the Anaheim Convention Center, in the heart of the Anaheim Resort district.

The concept

Opened in June 2021, this was a fully new-build, 618-room resort — one of the largest hotel openings Anaheim had seen in a decade — developed specifically to add AAA Four Diamond inventory near the convention center, alongside the JW Marriott a few blocks away. The design nods to Anaheim's orange-grove history in its materials and public spaces, and the hotel leans hard into Westin's wellness positioning, with programming such as "Bright Breaks" built into its meeting packages. Marriott named it its global "Opening of the Year" for 2021.

Dining & wellness

Seven food-and-beverage outlets are spread across the property: Tangerine Room, the signature restaurant, serves modern Californian dishes with a seasonal, globally sourced wine list; RISE Rooftop Lounge overlooks Disneyland and pairs Mediterranean-inspired shared plates with fireworks views; Bar 1030 covers lighter lobby fare and craft cocktails; and Bella's Splash serves the pool deck. The hotel also runs a WestinWORKOUT fitness studio and a heated outdoor pool with private cabanas, plus 47,000+ square feet of meeting space including the 16,120-square-foot Anabella Ballroom.
