Cambria Hotel Anaheim Resort Area opened in December 2019 as Choice Hotels' 50th and then-largest Cambria, a ground-up 352-room tower developed by Nexus Development Corporation a few minutes from Disneyland. Its standout amenity is a 30,000-square-foot waterpark with an outdoor movie wall and putting green.

The place

The hotel sits at 101 E Katella Avenue, a few minutes' drive or rideshare from the Disneyland Resort gates and adjacent to the Anaheim Convention Center, Angel Stadium and the Honda Center — closer to the resort district's transit hub than to the walkable core covered by this guide's other tracked Anaheim hotels.

The concept

Developed by Nexus Development Corporation as a ground-up, 12-storey tower, this was Cambria's 50th hotel to open and, at the time, its largest — part of an 11-opening year for the Choice Hotels-owned upscale brand. The design leans on an ocean-and-palm colour palette of corals and blues rather than a Disneyland-themed aesthetic, aimed at both leisure families and the convention crowd drawn by the adjacent Anaheim Convention Center.

The property's standout amenity is a 30,000-square-foot waterpark with an outdoor movie wall, sport court, barbecue areas, fire pits and a putting green, alongside an all-season indoor/outdoor bar serving craft beer and cocktails, a fitness centre and included daily hot breakfast.
