The place
The Mindaro is part of a newly built hospitality campus near Portland International Airport, off NE Airport Way roughly three miles from the terminal, alongside a dedicated events center and a separate Hyatt House extended-stay property.
The concept
The Mindaro is the lifestyle-brand centerpiece of the new Mindaro campus, carrying Hyatt's JdV by Hyatt flag rather than a standard airport-hotel brand — the campus's own materials describe it as offering a 'one-of-a-kind lifestyle boutique experience' when it opens, distinct from the adjoining, more functional Hyatt House suites property aimed at extended-stay guests. The campus's Mindaro Event Center, with an roughly 5,300-square-foot ballroom, has already opened and started hosting meetings, giving the project momentum ahead of the hotel's own debut. As a new-build lifestyle property in an area of Portland that has historically only offered generic airport hotels, it's a notable bet that a design-forward brand can work even a few miles from the runway.
Dining & wellness
Details to be confirmed for the hotel itself; the broader Mindaro campus already includes Jawfish, a restaurant featuring 'Le Petit Chef,' an immersive 3D-projection dining experience, though it isn't yet confirmed which dining venues will sit inside The Mindaro's own building versus elsewhere on the campus.
