The Farnam converted the high-rise portion of a 1990 Holabird & Root office tower into Nebraska's first Autograph Collection hotel, opening in downtown Omaha's Old Market district in May 2021. First-time hoteliers Jason and Angie Fisher worked with the Gettys Group on an industrial-chic interior built around the city's railroad history. 120 rooms, two locally run restaurants, and a run of hospitality awards followed.

The place

1299 Farnam Street, on the edge of downtown Omaha's Old Market district, facing the Gene Leahy Mall at The RiverFront.

The concept

The hotel occupies the high-rise portion of the Landmark Center, a 15-story office and data-center complex built in 1990 by Holabird & Root for Northwestern Bell. First-time hoteliers Jason and Angie Fisher, working with the Gettys Group, converted it into Nebraska's first Autograph Collection property. The name honors Henry Farnam, the railroad engineer who brought the Pacific Railway terminus to Omaha, and the interiors carry that reference throughout: reclaimed railroad-tie furniture, railway-pattern carpets, and charred beams salvaged from the fire-damaged M's Pub.

Dining & wellness

Dynamite Woodfire Grill serves a wood-fired, locally sourced menu in a dining room detailed with reclaimed beams from the fire-damaged M's Pub. Catalyst, the adjoining lounge and one of the city's largest outdoor bars, pairs cocktails and shareable plates with an expansive terrace.
