The Oberlin Raleigh, Curio Collection by Hilton

Hilton's Curio Collection is coming to Raleigh's Village District with a 153-room hotel named for Oberlin Village, a historic Black Freedman community, expected to open in late 2026. A market café, cocktail lounge and rooftop restaurant are planned for the new seven-story building.

The place

A new seven-story building rising in The Village District shopping center at 501 Woodburn Road, on a site formerly occupied by a K&W Cafeteria, a few minutes from downtown Raleigh.

The concept

Raleigh's first Curio Collection by Hilton property, the Oberlin Raleigh takes its name and identity from Oberlin Village, one of North Carolina's largest and longest-surviving Black Freedman communities, founded by formerly enslaved residents after emancipation. The 153-room, six-floor hotel builds its brand around that story, down to a three-ring logo meant to represent the neighborhood's past, present and future — a more grounded piece of place-based storytelling than most new-build hotel launches attempt.

Dining & wellness

Plans call for a market-style café for breakfast, a lounge with a full cocktail bar, an outdoor courtyard, and a sixth-floor restaurant and rooftop bar facing downtown Raleigh; specific chef and menu details are not yet public.
