The place

On Jeffrey Street in Edinburgh's Old Town, a five-minute walk from the Royal Mile and Waverley Station, extending the existing Leonardo Royal Hotel site.

The concept

Leonardo Hotels' first Scottish property under its nightlife-oriented NYX banner, aimed at a younger crowd with bold colour, curated local art and DREAM beds across 125 rooms — a GBP 60 million build that becomes the group's fifth Edinburgh address.

We had a wonderful stay at NYX Hotel. The service was excellent, and the hospitality was truly outstanding. Every member of the staff was warm, friendly, and always willing to help, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and had a great atmosphere. Thank you to the entire team for making our experience so enjoyable. We would definitely love to stay here again and highly recommend it♥️😘🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Prem, Sofia, Kate were best staff very friendly always smiling and very helpful

I initaly booked this hotel in a rush without checking the reviews beforehand. While on the way, I noticed a low overall rating and some negative feedback, though I quickly realized those were mostly from people who had booked before the hotel officially opened. To my dismay, upon arrival, I discovered I had mistakenly booked my stay for the following week with a non-cancellable policy. Thankfully, John the manager went above and beyond to help. He gave me a direct number for Hotels.com, and the issue was quickly sorted out with a date change. As for the hotel itself, it was fantastic! It features really nice, modern decor, a great bar, and the room was exceptionally comfortable. Breakfast was also greaHighly recommend! Br

Tonight we enjoyed a fantastic meal in the newly opened NYX hotel Edinburgh. We enjoyed a beautiful 3 course meal with wine and coffee. We would definitely come back staff were so lovely our thanks go to Claire General Manager, Simone, Jeanny and restaurant staff Calum, James and Olivia . Food was excellent and beautiful surroundings. Thanks again

This hotel may very well be great when it opens, but it’s not open. They let me make a reservation months ago and luckily I looked on their instagram as we got closer to the date and I realized they weren’t even open yet. Based on other reviews it seems their plan was to stick us in another (cheaper) Leonardo hotel last minute for the same price. The fact that they are so desperate for business that they’re advertising and accepting reservations at a hotel that is still being built is insane.

Booked this hotel but sadly it wasn’t open yet. They reached out to see if I was fine with staying in their sister hotel Leonardo also in Edinburgh. It was a wonderful experience. Princess helped me out immensely, I went to her to see about Edinburgh Castle tickets, and walked away after a while with tickets but also a whole list of things to do in town and on some of my other travels throughout Europe. Definitely stay here, you won’t regret it!
