The former Royal Bank of Scotland headquarters on St Andrew Square reopened in July 2025 as The Edinburgh Grand, Scotland's first Luxury Collection hotel. Owned and operated by Chris Stewart Group, the 50-suite property pairs original Neo-Classical detailing with an all-suite, kitchen-equipped format aimed at extended stays, plus a new spa carved into the building's historic vaults.

On St Andrew Square in Edinburgh's UNESCO-listed New Town, inside the Neo-Classical building that served as the Royal Bank of Scotland's headquarters.
The concept
Chris Stewart Group repositioned its existing all-suite residence as Marriott's first Luxury Collection hotel in Scotland, retaining original architectural details — dark wood paneling, fireplaces, brass hardware, sweeping staircases — while adding contemporary Scottish-toned interiors led by the group's own design team. Fifty one-, two- and three-bedroom suites, each with a full kitchen and living area, position it for extended-stay and leisure guests rather than transient business travel.
Dining & wellness
Lady Libertine, a two-level café-bar with live music, and Hawksmoor Edinburgh, the steak and seafood specialist, anchor the food and drink program, alongside a new spa set in the former bank's vaults offering facials and body treatments from £115.
