Hyatt Centric Beale Street Memphis
The first hotel to carry a genuine Beale Street address, built as the anchor of a riverfront mixed-use project.
Open · April 2021
Hyatt Centric Beale Street Memphis opened in April 2021 as the first hotel with a genuine Beale Street address, anchoring developer Carlisle LLC's One Beale riverfront project. The place
The hotel sits at the corner of Beale Street and Front Street in downtown Memphis, inside the One Beale mixed-use development overlooking the Mississippi riverfront and the Hernando de Soto Bridge — walking distance from FedExForum and Beale Street's clubs and music venues, and the first hotel address on the street itself.
The concept
Hyatt Centric Beale Street Memphis opened April 15, 2021 as the first completed phase of One Beale, developer Carlisle LLC's riverfront project that also includes a Caption by Hyatt hotel, apartments and office space. The 227-room guest tower is new construction designed by Memphis firm HBG Design; its roughly 15,000 square feet of meeting space, however, folds in the renovated Ellis Machine Shop, an 1879 ironworks building that once made propellers and fittings for river vessels, repurposed into the Foundry Ballroom and meeting rooms named Welding Shop and Pattern Shop that connect the Hyatt Centric to the adjoining Caption by Hyatt. The positioning leans on the address itself: rather than sitting a few blocks from Beale Street's entertainment district like most downtown Memphis hotels, this is the one actually on it, aimed at travelers who want to be inside the scene rather than adjacent to it.
Dining & wellness
CIMAS, a Latin American-inspired restaurant with river views, anchors the ground floor alongside the CIMAS Lobby Lounge. Beck & Call, an eighth-floor whiskey-focused rooftop bar with live music on Thursdays and Sundays, opened shortly after the hotel on May 1, 2021. A resort-style pool deck with private cabanas — described as downtown Memphis's only pool of its kind — rounds out the amenities alongside a fitness center.
