Aloft Memphis Downtown
A century-old cotton-district office block reborn as downtown Memphis's loft-style lifestyle hotel.
Open · October 2024
Aloft Memphis Downtown opened in October 2024 inside the century-old Tenoke Building on B.B. King Boulevard, turning a former office block a few steps from Beale Street into a 156-room, design-driven hotel. It's Marriott's first Aloft in Memphis and one of downtown's most visible adaptive-reuse hotel projects of the past few years.

The place
The hotel occupies the century-old Tenoke Building at 63 N. B.B. King Blvd, in the heart of downtown Memphis a few blocks from Beale Street, FedEx Forum and the Rock 'n' Soul Museum.
The concept
Developer Vibrant Hotels Inc., led by Vince Vaghela, converted the 1911 Tenoke Building — originally an office building in Memphis's cotton and dry-goods district — into a 12-story, 156-room Aloft, Marriott's design-forward select-service brand. The project had been in the works for years (first approved by the city around 2016) before finally opening in October 2024, making it one of downtown Memphis's more prominent adaptive-reuse hotel conversions this decade. The result pairs Aloft's signature loft-inspired, 'Sassy-Savvy' aesthetic — exposed structure, bold graphic touches, a game room and lobby lounge — with the historic bones of the building.
Dining & wellness
The hotel includes a full-service restaurant, the brand's signature WXYZ bar for cocktails, beer and wine, and Re:fuel, a 24-hour grab-and-go pantry. A seasonal rooftop bar (901 Rooftop) operates during warmer months with skyline views, alongside an indoor pool, fitness center, a Topgolf Swing Suite and a private-viewing movie theater.
