The concept
Built in 1912 by the noted regional firm Trost & Trost and listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1979, the hotel closed in 2018 for a nearly four-year, multimillion-dollar restoration before reopening under Marriott's Autograph Collection in October 2020. Its centerpiece is a 25-foot-diameter Tiffany-style stained-glass dome ceiling, preserved through the renovation, alongside 33,000 sq ft of meeting and event space.
