Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa opened on July 3, 2025 on Albion Road, adding Canada's first fully integrated Hard Rock resort to the long-standing Rideau Carleton Raceway site. A brand-new 150-room hotel tower, including 22 suites, sits alongside an expanded casino, ten-plus restaurants and bars, and an 1,800-plus-seat live music venue.

The place

The hotel occupies a new five-storey tower at 4837 Albion Road, built onto the long-running Rideau Carleton Raceway and Casino site in Ottawa's south-east Gloucester area, roughly 20 minutes from downtown and Parliament Hill.

The concept

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa is the first fully integrated Hard Rock property in Canada, a $350-million expansion designed by WATG that adds a brand-new 150-room hotel tower — with 22 luxury suites — to a casino and harness-racing site that previously had no hotel component at all. That makes it a genuinely new hotel operation rather than a rebrand of an existing property, even though the surrounding casino has operated on the site for decades. The project bundles the hotel with an expanded 1,500-slot, 40-table casino, a Rock Shop, memorabilia displays and an 1,800-plus-seat Hard Rock Live venue, positioning it less as a standalone hotel and more as a destination entertainment resort — Ottawa's answer to the Hard Rock format seen in Atlantic City or Niagara Falls.

Dining & wellness

More than ten restaurants and bars sit across the resort, including the flagship Hard Rock Cafe and the Council Oak Steaks & Seafood steakhouse, alongside the Hard Rock Live theatre and Rock Shop retail concept.
