It is Germain Hotels' third airport property and its 20th hotel in Canada, built as new construction rather than a conversion of an existing building.

The concept

Alt is Germain Hotels' pared-back, design-conscious sister brand to its upscale Le Germain label, and the Ottawa Airport property follows the formula: sunny colours, travel-inspired accents and integrated greenery in the public areas, paired with 178 guest rooms built around 100%-Canadian-made beds and Bella Pella bath products — small details the brand repeats across its portfolio to signal design intent at a moderate price point. Its main advantage is pure convenience: direct terminal access means guests can walk from gate to room without stepping outside, a proposition Germain has already tested at its Calgary and Toronto Pearson airport properties before bringing it to Ottawa.
