Aloft Albuquerque Sunport
New Mexico's first Aloft hotel is rising four stories from an airport-adjacent lot, built with extra soundproofing to blunt the Sunport's runway noise.
Announced · Summer 2027
New Mexico's first Aloft hotel is under construction a short shuttle ride from Albuquerque International Sunport, developer Samir Patel's Prime Hospitality Consulting building a 109-room, four-story property aimed at travelers who need a bed near the terminal more than a view of the Sandias. Ground broke in December 2025 on the $22–24 million project, with Marriott's tech-forward, design-led brand slated to open by summer 2027.

The place
The hotel sits at 1515 Aircraft SE, on a formerly vacant lot bounded by Sunport Boulevard and University Boulevard SE, directly across from a parking structure at Albuquerque International Sunport. The location trades scenery for pure function: no downtown skyline, no Old Town charm, just a few minutes to the terminal via a free, round-the-clock shuttle.
The concept
Prime Hospitality Consulting, the firm led by longtime Albuquerque hotelier Samir Patel, broke ground on the project in December 2025 after landing Marriott's Aloft license — the brand's first foothold in New Mexico. Aloft's identity has always leaned tech-and-design-forward rather than plush, and this build follows that script: mobile key check-in, high-speed Wi-Fi geared toward business travelers on tight layovers, and the brand's signature interactive lobby lighting. Because the four-story, roughly 58,000-square-foot building sits inside the airport's flight path, the construction includes reinforced soundproofing to dampen takeoffs and landings. At a projected $22–24 million for 109 rooms, it's a modest budget by hotel-development standards, and the room configuration is aimed at business-corridor stays rather than leisure travel.
Dining & wellness
Food and drink follow Aloft's standard format: a WXYZ Bar — the brand's signature all-day lounge concept built around cocktails, small plates, and a pool table — anchors the ground floor. Outside, an outdoor pool and patio provide the property's one concession to leisure. No standalone restaurant has been announced.
