Al Nawras Island, LXR Hotels & Resorts is Hilton's announced but heavily delayed plan to bring its all-villa LXR brand to a private island in Abu Dhabi, with 80 beach and water villas built around a private golf course and marina. First announced in 2022 for a 2023 opening, the project has slipped repeatedly and carries no confirmed opening date as of mid-2026, with no publicly verified construction progress.

The place

The resort is planned for the private Al Nawras Island, in one of Abu Dhabi's recreational waterfront areas, with its own marina and beach club and access back to the mainland city.

The concept

Announced by Hilton in 2022 for an original 2023 opening, Al Nawras Island would mark LXR Hotels & Resorts' entry into Abu Dhabi and the UAE capital: an all-villa resort of 80 beach and water villas plus a 450-square-metre, two-bedroom Royal Villa, built around a private golf course, a marina, tennis and padel courts, an indoor pool and two outdoor pools, a spa, and a dedicated kids' area with its own pool and splash pad. No developer, architect or general contractor has been named publicly, and no construction activity has been independently confirmed since the project was announced.

Dining & wellness

No restaurants, chefs or a food-and-beverage programme have been publicly detailed; Hilton's announcement describes an exclusive beach club and spa but does not name dining venues.
