AC Hotel by Marriott Naples 5th Avenue

AC Hotel Naples 5th Avenue opened on 15 December 2023 as the hotel component of the Naples Square development, steps from 5th Avenue South's restaurants and galleries. It has 150 rooms on three storeys and a rooftop restaurant, Limón, which gives downtown Naples a design-led alternative to the city's beachfront resorts.

The place

The address is 455 12th Street South, on a corner of what OTO Development calls the city's unofficial Main Street. It sits two blocks off 5th Avenue South, Naples' commercial spine since the 1920s, lined with more than 30 restaurants, boutiques and galleries, and under two miles from the Gulf beach.

Gulfshore Playhouse, Tin City, the Bayfront and Baker Park are all nearby.

The concept

The hotel is a ground-up building by OTO Development, part of The Johnson Group, which also manages it. Architecture is by MHK Architecture & Planning, interiors by DLR Group and construction by DeAngelis Diamond. The design takes AC Hotel's minimalist, European language and adds local references, drawing on the bald cypress and Southwest Florida greenery.

Naples Square was master-planned by Wheelock Street Capital and The Ronto Group. Besides the hotel it includes nearly 300 luxury condominium units and a 350-seat performing arts complex, so the hotel serves residents and theatre audiences as well as visitors.

The ground floor holds the lobby and a café. Event space totals about 2,500 square feet, enough for small corporate or social gatherings.

Dining & wellness

Limón occupies the third-floor rooftop, with indoor seating and tables around the pool. The Mediterranean menu, inspired by the Amalfi coast, includes homemade meatballs, Spanish-style rock shrimp and skin-on red snapper. Desserts include limoncello mascarpone cake and olive oil cake, and the cocktail list features the Limón Cadere, Crown of Laurels and Melon Basil Sparkler.

There is a fitness center. The hotel has no full-service spa.
