The place

Downtown Milwaukee, occupying the former west wing of Hilton Milwaukee, with a new dedicated entrance on N. 6th Street and a climate-controlled skywalk connection to the Baird Center convention center.

The concept

Marcus Hotels & Resorts announced in September 2025 that it would convert the west wing of Hilton Milwaukee — the building Marcus Corporation bought in 1972 and originally renamed the Marc Plaza Hotel, itself a 1928 construction as the Schroeder Hotel — into a standalone, independently flagged property. The Marc Hotel opened January 15, 2026 with 175 guest rooms and suites and more than 34,000 square feet of meeting and event space, dropping the Hilton brand and reservation system entirely on this portion of the building while Marcus continues to own and operate both properties. Guests retain access to the neighboring Hilton Milwaukee's dining and additional meeting space, and the hotel markets itself to convention attendees using the adjacent Baird Center as much as to travelers wanting a simpler, limited-service stay downtown.

Dining & wellness

No dedicated restaurant of its own; guests have access to dining at the adjacent Hilton Milwaukee. Rooms include a mini refrigerator and coffee maker rather than full food-and-beverage service.
