The Ritz-Carlton, Paradise Valley, The Palmeraie

The first new Ritz-Carlton built in North America in over a decade is taking shape in Paradise Valley, Arizona, as the centerpiece of the $2 billion Palmeraie development. Construction is reportedly far along, but developer Five Star Development's November 2025 Chapter 11 filing means the 215-room resort is now completing under bankruptcy court supervision, with its opening date unconfirmed.

The place

The hotel sits within The Palmeraie, a roughly 100-plus-acre master-planned enclave at the foot of Camelback and Mummy Mountains, on the Paradise Valley/Scottsdale line between Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona.

The concept

The Ritz-Carlton, Paradise Valley, The Palmeraie is planned as a 215-room resort forming the centerpiece of The Palmeraie, a roughly $2 billion mixed-use development that also includes 80 branded Ritz-Carlton Residences villas, 32 Ritz-Carlton-branded Estate Homes, and a luxury retail and dining district. It is reported to be the first new-build Ritz-Carlton in North America in over a decade. The hotel's construction was paused when developer Five Star Development filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in November 2025 to block a foreclosure sought by lender Madison Realty Capital. As of mid-2026 the case remains open in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas, with debtor-in-possession financing approved and villa sales cleared to proceed; infrastructure for the resort is reportedly substantially complete, but a firm hotel opening date has not been confirmed.

Dining & wellness

No dining venues, restaurant names, or chef partnerships have been publicly confirmed for the resort at this stage; specifics will be added once Ritz-Carlton or the developer announce them.
