Premier Inn Brighton City Centre (Seafront)

Premier Inn Brighton City Centre (Seafront) is under construction on West Street, its structural frame topped out in August 2026 ahead of a 187-room opening targeted for early 2028. It will be Brighton's second Premier Inn, alongside the existing North Street property inland.

The place

West Street, Brighton city centre — a pedestrianised street running from the Clock Tower down to the seafront and Brighton Palace Pier, on the site of a former nightclub.

The concept

Whitbread acquired the West Street site from a private developer and started construction in October 2025, with Gilbert Ash as principal contractor. The structural frame topped out on 25 August 2026. The finished hotel will hold 187 rooms in Premier Inn's latest format, including enhanced Premier Plus rooms, plus a ground-floor restaurant, and is expected to create around 40 new hospitality jobs. It will be Brighton's second Premier Inn, alongside the existing 161-room Premier Inn Brighton City Centre (North Street) near the Clock Tower — this new property is distinguished as "(Seafront)" in its name, reflecting its position closer to the water at the foot of West Street. Whitbread is targeting an early 2028 opening.
