Short 20 min to Garden of Gods and Manitou Springs. The hotel was beautiful and the rooms were excellent! Super clean! Friendly and helpful staff! The small pantry for the club rooms was a nice perk.
There is a $25+tax daily urban fee (which was disclosed to us beforehand so no surprises) but you get $25 credit to use that offsets that, which was great.
The cafe downstairs had EXCELLENT coffee/espresso drinks. The food was also good, altho the price was a bit high for the portion size.
There is no phone in the rooms but we were able to reach the main desk easily by calling the main number through our cellphone.
There was no coffee in the rooms or in the club room. Only way to get coffee was to pay for it at the cafe. Considering the price and the 4 star, coffee in the room or club room would have been nice. Also, the drinks in the club room would have been nice if they were refrigerated. Just two minor things I found annoying. Everything else was excellent!
The Mining Exchange is a thoughtful and welcoming hotel with plenty of comfortable touches throughout both the lobby and the guest rooms. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom was beautifully designed with a modern, upscale feel. Overall, I would recommend staying here 10 out of 10 times.
The only drawback is the surrounding area, where homelessness and drug use are visible. I never had any issues, but it’s worth being aware of your surroundings if you’re walking around the neighborhood, especially after dark.
Customer service was excellent. The location is amazing and room is spacious. I know it’s an old hotel and went through couple renovations. A few small and minor issue about the room. The shower is warm but not necessary hot. It’s warm enough for me but my partner says it’s a little bit cold. I think this might have to do with the size of the bathroom and no air heater on it. The bathroom sink is working but drain speed could be faster. The AC as previously mentioned, put it on auto. Otherwise, it can be noise.
Overall value and experience was excellent. Staff were friendly and location and hardware itself is on point. I am happy to visit again and bring my friends & family here.
We recently hosted our wedding weekend at The Mining Exchange, and we truly could not have asked for a better experience. From start to finish, every member of the team made us, our families, and our guests feel welcomed and cared for.
A special thank you to the valet team for always greeting everyone with a smile, Vernon at the front desk for his exceptional hospitality, and Sara for flawlessly planning and executing our rehearsal dinner and welcome party. Sara went above and beyond to accommodate our families and ensure every detail was handled perfectly, allowing us to relax and enjoy the celebration.
The service, communication, and attention to detail exceeded our expectations. Our guests are still talking about how beautiful and unique the hotel is and how wonderful the staff was throughout the weekend.
For any brides or couples planning a wedding in Downtown Colorado Springs, The Mining Exchange is an incredible choice. We are so grateful to the entire team for helping create such a memorable and stress-free wedding weekend.
The hotel itself was absolutely beautiful with definite character and well designed spaces. The finishes were beautiful and honored the history of the building. The staff was friendly and very helpful. My only complaint is the gym was in the basement with poor lighting. The equipment was decent but definitely felt like working out in an old basement. Would have loved more light and stretching matts. Overall though a beautiful hotel.
